NB Full Bodied Rum (70cl)

Our NB Full Bodied Rum is a flavoursome, silky and distinctive rum displaying notes of banana and tropical fruits with a hint of "funk"! Awarded Silver in the 2025 International World Spirits Competition - one of the most prestigious awards in our trade, and we are incredibly proud to stand alongside some of the world's finest rums.  

IWSC Judges comments: "Green pepper, dill, and a hint of liquorice, complemented by a clean touch of orchard fruit. On tasting, unripe banana and tropical notes unfold alongside herbal generality."

A fine, pure Scottish rum, expertly crafted from scratch here in North Berwick. It is a clear white rum with no additives, colouring or added sweetness - filtered to be free of any impurities.

All our Rums start with a long fermentation, the base of which is sugar cane molasses. Distilled in small batches in our unique Caribbean style Double Retort Pot Still “Gaynor” – custom-made for us by John Dore & Co, the oldest and most revered rum still makers in the UK. John Dore & Co also custom-built our gin still "Gloria". 

This is an exciting time in our journey as we continue to produce world-class spirits for you to enjoy, with this fine Scottish Rum sitting proudly alongside our gins. As well as our NB Full Bodied Rum, you can also enjoy our NB Spiced Rum. Made using the same base as our Full Bodied Rum and blended with some rested Scottish Rum from ex-Sherry Octaves and natural spices - a firm customer favourite!

Nose:  Deep, flavoursome nose with clean, fresh notes of soft tart fruits and distinctive notes of vanilla, unripened banana and green mango skin. “Like walking into a greengrocer – green leaves, soft fruits and herbs in the air”.

Taste:  Light soft fruits, sugar cane and underlying hints of mint chocolate and light spearmint (think After Eight Mint or Fry’s Chocolate!).

Body / Finish:  A balanced blend with a creamy, buttery mouthfeel. The depth is medium to long with a rounded finish that lingers on the lips.

Preferred serve:  We recommend trying neat first and add 3-5 drops of water or ice to open up the wonderful flavours and aromas. Great with mixers such as tonic, ginger beer or apple juice and a touch of honey. Perfect for any rum cocktails – Daiquiri, Rum Punch, or why not try a twist on a NB Rum Negroni. Best enjoyed with friends, alfresco of course!
