Each batch of our NB Rums will be slightly different in flavour profile and our next batch of NB Spiced Rum is seriously good! Perfect to enjoy this Christmas!
The base is from our Full Bodied Rum made using Indian cane molasses and blended with some rested Scottish Rum from ex-sherry octaves. It is naturally coloured, filtered with no additives and sweetened with natural maple syrup and natural plant-based caramel for further colour. We’ve added smoked black cherries and smoked Spanish oranges, smoked for us by the wonderful team at Belhaven Smokehouse. We add them to our distillation with natural spices of sweet and bitter orange peel, cinnamon cassia bark, grains of paradise (pepper), mild cloves, cut liquorice root, kibbled ginger and bourbon vanilla. The result is a seriously delightful and subtly spiced rum with a beautiful balance of spices and hint of smoked cherry.
Nose: On the nose, the rich Indian cane molasses blends with the velvety orange and mild cloves. A very subtle hint of vanilla and raisin follows. A delicious aroma much like Christmas cake or rum and raisin ice cream!
Taste: On tasting, the superb balance of spice is revealed. The cane molasses quickly gives way to creamy orange, subtle cloves, the warmth of cinnamon and pepper and a touch of added spice from the liquorice root.
Preferred Serve: Enjoy neat first or with ice. It is well complimented with ginger soda, rhubarb soda or your favourite Cola brand. Enjoy it any way you like!
